PINWHEEL
CATERING'S HERBAN CAFE
After
four years of waiting for you to
come to our Garden Café located in
lovely Sumner Washington, we have
decided to move our café to Tacoma!
Open in 2008, Pinwheel Catering’s
Herban Café.
Our concept is simple, delicious
organic cuisine without
pretentiousness. We feature a
balanced menu boasting categories
such as sandwiches, homemade soups,
hot entrees and items from the
grill. Need catering? We do that
too, specializing in the “more
intimate affairs”.
Print out the
promotional
coupons and join us when you are
in the neighborhood! We are excited
to be in Tacoma and we look forward
to getting to know you.
What's up with the pink cookies?
Being
a new business we try to get our
name 'out there' as much as
possible. It was suggested to me by
Jim, fellow restaurateur (owner of
Puget Sound Pizza) to go to a
business brown bag lunch being held
at Frost Park. So I plated up a tray
of pink cookies and I diligently
showed up. It was a dark and
potentially stormy day (like most
days in Tacoma during the months of
September through June) and no one
else showed up. I waited, I waited,
I waited: until finally I realized
no one else was coming! So I took
the cookies to a neighboring bank
and I went home. Unbeknownst to me I
was spied by a Volcano reporter. He
mentioned me in his blog and
feedtacoma.com (Kevin Freitas) also
had a story on the event on his
website. The story line evolved and
I was dubbed' the pink cookie lady'
A local artist/cartoonist R. R.
Anderson drew a picture of me which
ran in the March 6th Weekly Volcano
paper edition #331. Of course I had
to buy the original! It has been a
fun ride, I sincerely thank Kevin
Freitas for his wonderfully
entertaining website, R. R. Anderson
for his artistic skills and all
those bloggers who helped me gain my
15 minutes of fame. Thank you, thank
you, thank you! |
